RPIA – Romanian Photovoltaic Industry Association organized on April 6th the first event dedicated to Prosumers, in collaboration with Enel X, and backed up by Romanian Energy Center (CRE). The workshop ”Ascensiunea prosumatorului: provocări și soluții” set the path for fruitful interaction and created the premises for opening the dialogue between the main actors – installers, producers, suppliers, all the distribution operators, and public authorities.
The panelists got engaged in extensive discussions, exploring the regulatory framework, technical specifications, latest trends in the sector, actual hindrances, and ways to improve the process. The financing options were also set forth, along with some insights on labor regulation, upskilling and training, in the context of the exponential increase in the number of prosumers in recent years.
Among the key messages that were drawn during the event, there is the need to have a standardization at the level of distribution operators, that would harmonize and fasten the process. The inverters could be verified and approved by a sole distributor and then recognized by all other distribution operators. Special attention should be paid to the energy communities, which protect the interests of prosumers and will set the tone in future discussions about the process.
RPIA will continue the discussion with the authorities and with the distributors and will make the necessary steps for implementing these measures.
The trend is positive and there are in place all the necessary prerequisites that would allow for an exponential growth in the number of prosumers in Romania.
