EPC Masterclass – Business Growth & Innovation in Renewable Energy Projects
April 10, 2025 | Bucharest
As part of the GREEN ENERGY EXPO & ROMENVIROTEC, RPIA hosted the EPC Masterclass, a dedicated workshop exploring business and technical innovation in Romania’s growing renewables market. The event brought together EPC contractors, developers, financial institutions, and technical experts for in-depth dialogue on the evolving dynamics of solar project development.
The sessions, moderated by Irene Mihai (RPIA) and Mihaela Nyerges (Nyerges & Partners), focused on key topics such as business models for EPCs, circular economy and PV recycling, digitalization in project execution, workforce transformation, and grid integration.
Key takeaways from the EPC Masterclass highlighted workforce and infrastructure challenges in Romania’s renewables sector. While the country has solid technical expertise, a scalable workforce strategy is essential to meet growing demand—up to 100,000 solar jobs could be created by 2030. Labor shortages are already delaying projects across Europe by as much as a year. Standardized safety protocols and clear contract frameworks are critical for quality execution, while grid connection and energization remain significant hurdles, often taking up to six months. A new capacity allocation platform from Transelectrica is expected by mid-2025 to help streamline these processes.
The Masterclass featured contributions from: Photon Energy Group, Parapet, Transelectrica, Teletrans, Solarpro Holding, Econergy, WALDEVAR Energy, Adrem, Eximprod, Raiffeisen Bank Romania, Elektra Renewable Support, OSGP Alliance, and others.
