March 20, 2025
RPIA and RWEA co-hosted the 4th edition of the Green Finance Workshop, titled “Green Finance Unlocked: A Competitiveness Roadmap”, with the support of BCR and Vlăsceanu & Partners. The event explored strategies for accelerating Romania’s green energy transition through smart and forward-looking financing.
The agenda focused on the evolution of green financial instruments, recent regulatory developments, and ongoing challenges—such as grid connection delays and access to capital. Highlights included Romania’s tripling of installed solar capacity in just three years, the upcoming CfD round, and the design of a new energy efficiency scheme for large consumers. The conversation also addressed the role of financial tools like PPA guarantees and support for storage technologies in improving bankability.
Speakers from the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of European Projects, Competition Council, EIB, EBRD, EY, IFC, and industry stakeholders shared insights on aligning local action with the EU’s broader competitiveness and reindustrialization agenda.
The event reaffirmed Romania’s growing role in the regional energy transition and the importance of collaboration, consistency, and targeted investment in building a resilient, investor-ready renewables market.
