RPIA – Romanian Photovoltaic Industry Association has just lit up the solar energy scene with an incredible first edition of Solar Open Day.
This event took place in Rătești, Argeș county, where the largest photovoltaic park in South-East Europe was officially inaugurated and is soon to be connected to the grid. The park is currently in its testing phase, with commissioning just around the corner.
The PV Park at Rătești is a joint venture between Econergy Renewable Energy Ltd. and Nofar Energy. This ambitious collaboration represents the largest investment in renewable photovoltaic energy in Romania, with a total worth of EUR 102 million.
The PV Park is bound to power more than 100,000 households with clean, sustainable energy. It’s an extraordinary stride in the fight against climate change, mitigating a staggering 168,000 tons of CO2 emissions!
This achievement aligns perfectly with Romania’s commitment to decarbonization, aiming to secure over 30% of its energy needs from renewable sources by 2030.
The event was backed up by the participation of central authorities, local authorities, ANRE, representatives of the 2 parent companies, and dedicated members of RPIA.
